Returning to my former job
Posted by: mindym22

I am considering returning to a job I quit to return to college 6 months ago.I have been seeking employment but no company pays as well as my former employer. I am going to write a letter to my former boss, but she was not happy when I left. I am still attending college but only part time evenings. Any suggestions as to what I should say in the letter?

Just be honest. It can't hurt to try. Maybe your boss will be happy to have you back. |

Good point, I agree, life isn't fair. But read the post again. She wasn't complaining. |

I would suggest that you #1 be honest (as Karra suggested), and #2 focus on what you can bring to the company that someone else cannnot (i.e. already trained, faster to get up to speed with any new systems, etc.). You could also focus on the possibility of a future with the company when you finish college that wasn't there before you went back to school |
