    Single out by my boss!

    Hi everyone!

My coworker had present an issued to my boss which was concerning everyone and she spoke on on behalf of the whole office. My boss stated to the cowoker that I was behind this. The coworker said no everyone was questioning the matter they were all concerned. My boss had later that day call me in her office with another management person present, I assume for support.Which in it self was unusally. She said to me that the company would not hear or stand for any negativity. And if I didnt like working working there ..as she pointed her finger and stated "there's the door..if you don't like it here you can leave"! I have been a good worker with no problems since employed with the company. I don't consider being concern about something negative? I was totally taken back by my boss's behavior towards me. She assumed and accused me by singling me out. I did report the incident to HR. and they asked me to report it to the VP of the dept.It has been a week and nothing has been said to me about this incident. I feel my boss over stepped her bounds by her actions. And now I feel a sense retaliation by passing me over for something I should have been recognized for just recently. I have been in the work place for many years, retiring from a major company. This position was acquired 1 year ago. I have never had any boss speak to me in this tone and manner.

What course of action should I take, or just let it go?

    Thanks for your advise!

Reply: Seems to me that if HR asked you to report your boss to the VP, they may be trying to get rid of her. I'd do what they asked or they may not take you seriously in the future. Don't let this person bully you. I'd report it to the VP in writing though. Start documenting everything because if it isn't documented, it didn't happen. Good luck.

Reply: Hi Bgirl! Thank you so much for responding to my post. You may be right on about the company getting rid of her.I also thought perhaps there maybe something behind reporting to the VP. I will also take your advice on documenting everything. I have been in the work place for a long time. I won't stand for any of this bully behavior! Take care.
