Mid-year reviews are coming up @ my work. I have a few issues to address with my supervisor but don't want to be labeled a cronic complainer. instead, I want the supervisor to understand that I feel oppressed and lost (as far as growth in my new position) Any suggestions?

If I were you, I'd present my concerns in a postive light. Is there an area on your review for responses? for growth? If so, be sure to list specific growth goals there (ie: attending classes, becoming certified in your profession, etc.) If there is no written area on the review form, speak up. Tell your boss that you're very interested in on-going training, attending seminars, going back to school ... whatever you want. If you don't TELL your boss what your expectations are, they're not going to try and guess.
If nothing comes of your discussion and you continue to be unhappy at your job, it may be time to dust off that resume and start looking elsewhere. But remember, there is no such thing as a perfect job - all of us have a beef about some aspect of our job.
Good Luck!!
