    Anonymous letter

Someone left an anonymous complaint with our HR and this is the memo the entire company received.

This memo is in response to the anonymous letter that was placed under my door recently. It was simply signed "90% of the *** employees"

I will not acknowledge this letter until whomever the 90% are come forward and address this personally. I would suggest that before you contact the labor board you make sure that you have documented proof of whatever it is you are accusing people of. I guarantee that you will have to identify yourselves to them if you are unwilling to identify yourselves to the managment of this company.

*** and I are very interested in hearing what you have to say but we will not give any weight to an anonymous complaint.

I think that this letter sounds very much like they are trying to be bullies. I would think that if I person left a anonymous letter its because they fear retaliation but our company seem to not agree. Any ideas on how to handle this better and anyone know if they can legally do this?

Reply: Get over yourself! Who would give serious consideration to a letter containing swear words? I agree with the memo, if you have a complaint, do it in a grown up manner. Sounds like there's a very immature person in your company and I think the memo is 100% correct.

Reply: In response to BITC_A: if you work in an office setting, your employees almost certainly have access to PC`s and printers. This letter was probably written on company time on a company machine and therefore is still on the hard drives somewhere. Contact your tech people and have it retrieved. You will then know what machine it was written on and when. Unless you have mildly sophisticated people (i.e. sophisticated enough to, say, use GoToMyPC)you will then have an excellent idea of who wrote it.
