    narcissist boss

My boss is a complete narcissist. She thinks the whole world revolves around her. The owner of the company I used to work for also feels the same way and feeds into her narcissistic ways. I was forced to resign from my position due to the hostile work environment that I was in. I tried not to give up but it became difficult for my family to deal with. Did I mention she is also my sister-in-law, which makes even more difficult. It causes alot of tension in the family but it seems she is the one who they feel sorry for. Any help on what I can do to get her out of my life for good?

Reply: People who feed off of other's pain are in their OWN world. It's tends to be a "ALL ABOUT ME" or "ME" syndrome that they have. Did they force you to resign or did you gracefully except that it wasn't going to change and opt out. No one has to be subject to a hostile work enviroment, especially when the owner feeds the fire. You must do what is in your and your families best interest. If you have to bite your tongue around your sister-n-law, do so with a meaningful smile that you are above the pettiness. Remember that a smile keeps them guessing what your up to! The less the family knows, the better off they are. You are in control of what you want known. If they seem to feel sorry for her, it will all come out in the wash! You make life what you want it to be.
