My department director is a moron

I work for a department that is in some form of chaos every day. This stems completely because the department director is a moron. He does not listen (I had to tell him 4 times in one day that I cannot make a meeting as I will be on vacation), he does not follow through on projects and yells at you for not picking up his slack, he is culturally retarded (we cater to a certain ethnic demographic for our non profit agency), he does not know how to use basic ms office applications, he has no accountability with himself and other staff (imagine worse case scenario here) and he tries to break labor law. I have been just letting him fall on his own sword but now he has me on his hit list. He tried to write me up today for something I didn't do. I declined what he wrote, included a response and signed the bottom. Most of the staff outside my department think he is a complete idiot. I have been told in meetings that he stares off into space then asks a question that proves he was not paying attention. Any suggestions?

Reply: Hello- the Director is your boss - and the bos is in charge of you- like it or not. thus, you do ot tell the boss "what's up" - Perhaps you need to grow up- or be nemployed.

Reply: You know we all have our share of what we would consider a bad boss. That is part of life. We even sometimes work for people that we may have more office, networking, social, etc. skills. We must tactfully approach every situation when dealing with our superiors and peers. I can tell you this, getting along with your boss is just as important (in some cases more important) then the work you perform. You see the day to day office work we do that we consider a skill, can be learned over a short amount of time by someone else. Your likeability and your ability to respect authority (whether disserving or not) will make you or break you in an office setting. If you do not get along with your boss and he feels that the way you react to him outweighs your skills, you will not survive. Put yourself in his shoes. He gets up every morning and he goes to work. He is a director at work. (Director Positions don’t’ involve menial task using office) He directs his department and answers to a boss who judges his performance by all of your performances. (That excludes great computer skills, how he gets along with his subordinates as long as no law are broken. ) If he hits the mark, he is fine by the people who count. If he is lacking in something, then he hires people to pick up the slack. That is what a director does. You do not pick up the slack he looks bad. If he looks bad he has to fix it, thus writing you up to get you in line or to get you out. In my opinion you have to try to salvage things with your boss (if salvageable) or just find another job.

Reply: Hey, don't listen to these suckers. It's ok to have respect for yourself and to realize your boss is probably an idiot who got to his position by some miracle of idiocy running through the veins of your company. Nobody likes to be "directed" by morons who you have to tell things to 10x and they still don't get it, who don't know how to print from microsoft excel, have no people skills and literally should have been killed off via darwinism long ago had the intelligent people of our Earth not made everything so freaking easy through technology. Your boss is a moron. His boss is probably either a moron or too busy with other things to realize what a moron your boss is. The best thing for you to do is either look for a new job or just accept that you work for an idiot, and start planning out how you're going to eventually escape this. Don't sit down and take it as if you're one of these total LOSERS who wrote before me who think it's OK to live your life being subjected to this kind of idiocy and that life is about sacrificing everything you value for the sake of a freaking paycheck. Those people are soulless and already dead. Just remember you always have choices. You can quit your job. You can stop paying for and lose your apartment. You can join the army. You can move to Mexico and work in a Corona factory with Juan and Pedro. You can live on the street. Things probably won't end up so bad, just keep yourself grounded and know you're never stuck. Good luck! And screw everybody else.

Reply: Document, document, document. Communicate to your boss how you feel about the accusations, but professionally--try not to blow your top. Let him know that you are not willing to accept the blame then get out of his office fast. If you need to, get a mentor. Find someone in HR that will act as an arbitrator. This sounds like where I work. How does this happen?
