Boss thinks I have anger issues

I have have about three disagreements with one of my coworkers in the past year. They have not been knock down drag outs. There was no yelling involved, threatening language or gestures, or foul language. We had worked out the issues ourselves and seem to have a good relationship. I'm not sure what brought this on, but my boss brought me into his office and told me he had asked all of my cooworkers if they had any disagreements with me. He also told me that he had already told someone higher up on the food chain about it and that we were having the conversation we were having. I was amazed by this. His description of the disagreements that occurred between this person and myself basically was that I blew up at him. As I mentioned, on these occasions there was never any yelling, foul language, threatening language or physical threatening. I am an extremley even keal type person who rarely has a problem with anyone. With the person who I have disagreed, we have managed to talk together and come to an ammicable resolution. I told my boss this but he kept pushing the issue that the perception is that I am just fine one minute and blow up all of a sudden and that he has to look out for the welfare of the group. What am I supposed to do about a boss who seems to have come to a wrong conclusion and brought my character into question with my whole group and with an unknown person higher up in the chain?

Reply: It seems to me like your boss wants to have a reason to get rid of you, or the person you had a disagreement with told him a different story. People sometimes likes to see a person hop, it is entertainment to them. The next time you have a conversation with them, make sure you have a small hidden tape recorder with you.

Reply: I agree with GateKeeper. This boss told YOU how things went with your coworker and TOLD you how YOU are? Never ASKED your side about it? This boss has an agenda for getting rid of you. Probably this happened because the coworker you THINK you resolved things with is only playing along with you that things are fine between you two, but actually complained to the boss about you behind your back. Does that coworker have higher standing or value than you to the boss? Did you always get along with this boss? How does this boss deal with conflict in the workplace in general?
