    Shivering at work!

My boss is great - except for winter!

She doesn't like the heat on. I live in a cold state and temperatures get pretty low. It's a house renovated to offices. So there are separate rooms and electric baseboard heating throughout. I am in an office with my boss and she refuses to put on the heat in winter. Her past assistant's didn't fight her on it and froze in winter. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and darn it, I like to be warm. Sometimes she lets me put the heat on for a little, just part of the day. What can I do?? Do I have any rights in this matter?? I'm not asking to have the heat at 90 but when it gets down to 15 degrees in winter, I like to be warm!

The other offices have only 1 person in each, and they get their own control of heat. I have no control!

She told me to bring in a little space heater - why do I have to provide my own heat - I'm working for them!

    Thanks!

Reply: If this is the worst problem in your office, you got it good. Bite the bullet and spend the 30 bucks and bring in the space heater. You wanna be warm, or dontcha? Or you want to wrangle with this boss all winter over the same point? At least she's LETTING you bring in a heater. I'd say quit if she wouldn't even tolerate that. Every boss has to have at least ONE stupid point to be an a**h*le about. Unfortunately. Oh and run that space heater unashamedly all day long. You shouldn't be getting sick(er) from just showing up to work.

Reply: I agree. Invest in your own heater , if she's already cleared you to do so.

Reply: I agree. Bring a space heater. And stop whining, I just took a pay cut.
