Through the process of fetching job references for a job search, one of my job references (This was supposed to have been confidential.) had told my wicked bosses' boss (big boss) about the fact that I was searching and why, feeling that he was doing the right thing. Then, that big boss approached me and emphasized that he needs to keep me as an employee and that I should come to him when the bullying boss misbehaves and work on confronting him, too. Mind you, the bullying boss is clever at deceit at making himself look like an angel and even though he has not completely fooled his own boss, I do not think that this boss is aware of how bad it actually is. Meanwhile, the new employees who are treated like God's most awesome gift to the civil engineering profession are spewing about how the poor saint-like bullying boss keeps making up for the stupidity of his seasoned employees on his free time no less. There is obviously still a lot of major deceit going on...the bullying boss is better at this than anyone else.(He has a Jekyll and Hyde nature.) There is no job out there that I can apply to right now that I really want since I am interested in a government job. I am treading water and trying to survive this. It is awful, but I am making it. It seems to me that I would be playing a dangerous game if I deal more with the bosses' boss. Even though he supports me now, I don't have the cleverness or the moral depravity of the bullying boss to bash him the same way that he would cleverly bash me and make it look like it is all my fault. On the other hand, it seems unwise not to try and work with the bosses' boss either. I am documenting absolutely everything now. I am unsure of the best course of action.
