    Help me please!

My boss is overbearing, rude, manipulative, etc. I've been "busted down" to positions that I didn't want ever year for the past four years. I'm a teacher and it seems anytime he needs someone to come in and "fix" a grade level, he chooses me. Last year I had a car wreck and was out for quite awhile. At the end of the year he offered me the computer lab (which is a total crap job) or Pre-K. I ended up teaching Pre-K. I asked him last week if I was going to get to stay in the same grade this year. He said he didn't know. I told him, "See? Every year around March I start worrying that you're going to move me to another grade and I end up worrying until MAY." He told me just to worry about what I'm doing now. But I've had nightmares about my job ever since we had that talk.

I don't know what to do. Every year I spend money on my classroom, materials, curriculum supplements, etc. and I just don't know if I can take another move. And now I'm having nightmares and I'm constantly worrying if I'll even have a job.

    Do you have any advice?

Reply: So your "boss" is the school principal or what? I don't know anything about how schools are run, so I would need more information. If you don't like what your boss is doing, whom can you appeal your concerns to, the school board? How does your boss treat the other teachers regarding their teaching assignments? Can you prove or document harassment against you specifically? What about the details of your teaching contract, do they specify what you were hired to do and what duties? Even so, in many industries job specifications are loose and what you are legally required to do can change on the job.
