    Need advice about my boss

On March 3rd my boss came to my desk and inform me I am an acting supervior and get 10% of pay raise start from March 2nd (effective date) , and he said when this position is available you can apply for it, I will try my best to help you to fill this position but I can't guarantee. I said thank you. After that I am working very hard and finished one project before the deadline. Until I got my last pay, I didn't see any difference (10% pay raise), so I sent email to HR and HR told me they never got any request about my pay raise, so I sent email to my boss ask about it, he didn't reply to me until the day after. He asked me to his office and said: oh, because you didn't say yes you would like to take that position ( acting supervior ), then i said you have told me the effective date is March 2nd, that means I was an acting supervior since March 2nd. He then said right now no budget for the position, you have to wait until we have funding to give this position.

Do you guys think this is a big joke to me? He is a cheater! And now how can I deal with him? He is a bad boss I have never met!!

Reply: It's entirely possible that your boss promised you the pay increase before he checked with HIS boss, and then when he did check with his boss, found that he wasn't allowed to give any pay raises. I'm in senior management (exec level) and unfortunately I see this sort of thing all the time (i.e., managers making promises they can't keep - and if my company had paid up on every thoughtless empty promise our managers had made, we'd have been out of business a looooooooong time ago). And unfortunately for you, absent a written contract, there's nothing legally you can do about getting your pay raise. All I can advise you is to be a little less trusting of this particular boss.

Reply: Thanks for your advice " goodboss"! I throught my boss should inform me all about the position and pay raise after he got HR and His boss agreement of it. And also he should tell me if everything is not available right away, not I asked him about this before I found that I am not actiing supervior and get pay raise anymore, that's a one month later! I am so angry is that he tried to find the reasons that I don't want to take the positon, he said: you don't want to take more responsibility. I swear i never ever said that, because why I applied for this position before. Anyway like your advice less trusting of this boss!!! Bad boss!!

Reply: Good afternoon! Your boss is like my boss just preach and preach. We have no legal proof for that case. later we must not to believe totally in the unresponsible and irresponsible boss. "Never pratice what he preaches" of course being a good leader, he must do what he said. Good luck
