Being called out by executive in a Meeting

    Hi there,

My boss attended a regularly scheduled meeting with his peers recently. One executive decided to make slanderous statements about me and my leadership abilities. My boss (and others) were taken back. My boss just said "if there are problems, let's try to fix them". I was surprised when my boss told me of this executive's behavior. I've asked this executive to have coffee and talk, but he has yet to accept. This executive clearly has a problem with me (and no one else does). Now what do I do? What's my recourse?
