I started what I thought would be the perfect job last October. After only a month, I realized my new boss, who is the Director of our department, is having an affair with a much younger girl in the office. Since the young lady reports directly to me, I have found it difficult to supervise her. Her work is sloppy at best and she manages to get by without performing her tasks. Whenever I confront her about her unfinished work she runs to her lover who then tells me to back off. The two of them sit in his office for long periods of time, her feet propped up on his desk, laughing and cutting up. I have had numerous complaints about the two of them. Needless to say, morale is very low in the department, with a lot of gossip and whispering. This guy is a 42 year old, married man with two children. She's 24 and just out of college. I find it disgusting that the two of them sneak out together at lunch time, or come in late at the same time most mornings. He rarely does his job and pushes his work on me to complete. I'd love to just get up and walk away, but with times the way they are, I need this job. I'm trying my best to take the high road, but everyday seems to get worse. Any suggestions?
