    Hi I need to vent.

I currently work for a franchise and am looking for advice.

I have worked here for the last 6-7 years.

I was dubbed a manager, put on salary and paid under what a manager is supposed to receive.

I work in a place where there are OSHA violating ladders and other misc regulations. <--have complained about this. There are also cancerous materials in here that should be only controlled by companies with a chemical license.

I haven't seen a lunch or a break in SIX years. I rarely get vacations. I never get my overtime.

My boss of recent has gone crazy and yells at me and fellow employees. He can't control him self. He gets into a tangent and starts throwing stuff all around. Recently he threatened to fire me.

I'm looking for another job right now but it's hard because of the current economy. But what I would like to know I need a job to support my wife and I. Should I contact local government and report him while I still work there? Will that protect me?

Reply: To add to this...I also never get paid for holidays OT. I was told by my boss that all holidays are for children.

Reply: Wow, I couldn't last in a place like this, working there is emotionally toxic. You have the right idea looking for a job. You may even have to take a pay cut to be stress free and to have peace of mind. Cut back on some things at home and make less money for your happiness. I wouldn't report them, if the finger comes back to you. If you can report without them knowing, then do it.

Reply: I salute you for lasting that long in that environment. But I agree the current economy does not leave us with a lot of choice. I can relate though as my boss treats us like her stress ball. Throw tantrums and mistreats us. I looked up whistle blowing but not a strong case.Stay put.
