    boss snoops your phone

I missplaced my phone one full day at work. My boss gave it to me the next day and claimed it was left at the copier right outside their doorway. I had tex a message to a close friend about resigning my position. When I turned in my resignation the boss said I knew already because someone called and informed them ahead of time. The only way they knew about this info is due to them snooping my phone and going through my tex and reading my private information. What an unbelievable act from a boss, I'm sure my phone was taken home for that full day. The boss even had the nerves to check on me later on the day I misplaced the phone and asked if I found it...I am livid!!!

My solution is to keep my distance, with little communication to keep me from calling them out...I'm counting down my two weeks left there.

Reply: That is an invasion of privacy. You have the legal right to carry your personal phone with you and leave it on your desk. Consider it as trespassing. If your boss or company gave your their phone and it was a business expense that is an entirely different situation. Personally, I would file a complaint with the HR. Everybody is afraid of getting fired when you have the upper hand especially like this. If you do bring up the situation and complaint it might level the playing field, at least for a while, I found that if people think they can get away with things, then they will constantly push the envelope.
