boss thinks you are suppose to correct your coworkers instead of boss

How do you handle this situation? Coworks are obiviously not doing jwob properly-end product is not meeting company standards-you ask everyday for cowork to do the job according to standards. You told your boss over and over that there is a problem. The issues are ignored. The problems continue-you say something to boss again-telling boss that you are very tried of having to tell coworkers about the bad products-boss gets angry says it is your job to tell coworkers everyday that the product is wrong. you are suppose be the big person and continue to keep telling them what is wrong. Boss says if that doesn't work boss will be happy to step in.
