How should the EMPLOYER confront a difficult boss?

Hello. Can anyone point me to any articles or resources with tips on how the EMPLOYER (CEO, HR dept, fellow managers, etc.,) can best confront a difficult manager? The goal is to repair the damaged relationships and get the team functioning better, yet to show that the company is not supportive of the improper behaviors the manager may sometimes display. Please and thank you!

I have been working for an organisation for almost 5 years now. When I started we were 3 employees, we are currently 15 working there. I used to be able to cope with my boss' sarcasm and way she talks to employees. She does it very strategically and you sometimes get caught so off guard that you don't react immediately. I always try to avoid conflict and will keep quiet to keep the peace. Afterwards you feel so 'down' and like the world hates you. I'm doing a good job running projects and have built up a good track record, but my boss never compliments me, but keeps on showing me on how I'm going down and how we're going to lose the funds, etc. I want to quit, because the stress is making me feel sick, but I'm 43 years old and is worried that I won't be able to find a job easily since work is scarce here. Please help, I'm really feeling depressed. |
