Fighting Back: Overcoming Bullying in the Workplace

Reviewer/Reader Feedback: "This is a practical guide to overcoming bullies in the work place. The biggest cause of workplace stress in the UK is generally acknowledged to be bullying. A recent civil service college survey stated that almost every person in the civil service had been bullied at one time. Taking a simple, straightforward approach, this book looks at how to recognize a bully, how to protect yourself, how to gather evidence, and what steps you should take to avoid it happening in the future."

This may not work in all situations but in our small company the bullying boss was, ( after a meeting of the employees ) given a dose of his own medicine by all of us on the same day in a group situation so that none of us could be singled out. It worked

I would like to remain anonymous, but have to express some recent events that occurred within a company I worked for that has recently shut down its doors, Sarah Coventry. Part of the reason the company did not survive was due to the poor decisions our President/CEO made. Our boss was a very hardworking and driven woman, yet her way of succeeding has been to bully everyone from consultants to vendors. She would publicly humiliate people, choose favorites based on appearance, and cheated during awarding incentives. If she personally didn't like you, she would drive you away. Even if you were a top performing consultant. Sadly, our company is no longer, but thankfully there are numerous other direct selling companies out there to work for, where we won't be bullying into selling.

I work with a woman just like the one you describe, she is so out of control, she accuses you and does not allow you to defend yourself,if you do she turns things around and calls you confrontational. I do not know what to do she loves control and I hate it. I tried my best at work but I make a lot of comments against her and her decisions behind her back, I am not liking myself I feel so bitter and angry about the abuse and about being passed for promotion over so many people who do not deserve as much as I do. I have worked so hard and have been sucessful with all assignments. I hope the new commissioner makes changes at the top and puts people who are more human.

This book seems to be very helpful . As for me I also read similar books. I've downloaded several ones from pdf SE http://www.pdfok.com . Well, they help if you follow what it is written there but usually it is very difficult to change your behaviour.
