Take a Day off PAID call me in the Afternoon

My boss has a communication problem, expressing what he wants in a project, giving praise (not once is a document right on the first try) Being afraid of his response, overtime is not noted on timesheets, then it's I forged his name on timesheets. After all of this He gives me the day off, tells me to call him late in the afternoon and make sure I am no where near the facility today. What's up? I must be getting fired. All thoughts please

Reply: Very weird-sounding behaviour. Have you tried asking him why he gave you a paid day off?

Reply: Communication is a key factor that gets lost in todays rush to get it done. If you feel that you did your best, it's ok to pat yourself on the back and say job well done. But we sometimes forget to take the criticism with a grain of salt. We are not mind readers. Maybe use the saying "Measure twice and cut once" as your rule of thumb. Know that you did your best and stand proud. Has your boss made you afraid of his responses in the past? Sometimes we do not speak up because of fear. This can be conquered. Is it possible that by you signing his signature to timesheets that he could be in hot water? To me, a day off with pay is not being fired, but it might give him time to evaluate a situtation at hand. If you don't ask, you won't know.
