    More experience than my Boss

Two weeks after I started with my new company my boss was promoted to take over the division. It didn't take me long to discover that I have FAR more experience than her and that she is utterly incapable of running the group without me. My boss is constantly asking me how to do her job (how to organise the team, what the priorities are, what resources are required etc). She also clearly feels threatened by me - she won't allow me to meet with any senior manager without her being present, she has given me a cube instead of an office and won't give me the authority to make a decision without her approval (so she can take the credit).

I know that 'cream rises to the top' and I know I'll be properly recognised in the longer term, but what can I do to address the situation now? I feel that *I* should be running the division, not her and it's difficult to see how I can accelerate senior management's understanding of just who is really "in charge".

Reply: There's a lot to be said for making "Suggestions" to the boss... If he does not take your advice, and you end up being right, he'll notice. of course, he wont aknowlage it, but you will gain credit.

Reply: Try to focus on your work rather than her.
