Welcome to the Discussion Forum for employees. We invite you to reply to an existing topic or add a new topic. For example, you can describe a problem you are having with a boss and ask for advice (remember to keep it general -- don't name companies or people, and don't post your email address), or you may want to give us some feedback on improving the site. Thanks.

Reply: I think your forum needs work. There appears to be no way to add a topic. This will make getting into a good discussion somewhat more difficult.

Reply: Hi, thanks for the comment. We've made some changes around starting a new topic, and it's now much easier to use.

Reply: Greetings. I wrote something on the other forum, so I'm writing here also. I work somewhat in this field, so hopefully I'll be some kind of help, as well as learn some things also. Let's hope this area grows by leaps and bounds.

Reply: I don't know what to do. I love my job and the "other employees." I work for the CEO/COB and have been for about 8 yrs. I am not allowed personal calls. I'm not supposed to make any "noise." I'm not allowed to be sick. I actually have 3 functions at my job and am extremely underpaid for even 1 of them. I am being required to abide by HIS law, and no one elses. He told me my family does NOT come 1st while at work. Meanwhile he talks abt personal stuff all day with wife and other coworkers. What do I do?

Reply: Your boss seems like a tyrant with double standards who as the ceo is dominating the company. You may have some recourse regarding the law and practice of employer-employee relations concerning being sick, occassional personal calls and other matters. However standing up for yourself in a major way could be risky. That said, you might want to pick one area and see if you can improve things. Overall, in view of your current situation, it may be best that you quietly look for another position and move on to a place where you will be paid and treated properly... who knows, some of your co-workers may follow you later.

Reply: Anyone who says that your family doesn't come ahead of your job...I suggest that you leave your position ASAP before you give up ALL your rights to anything resembling a life.

Reply: I guess the URL is a bit off track. How many would come up with a search for the word bossology? Perhaps, you'll get a wider readers if you rename the URL. Even a badboss.com would be more appropriate than bossology. Strictly my opinion.

Reply: Hey URL Owner, You need to provide a mechanism to preview our drafts prior to it going wide. This will allow touch-up to the writing before it goes up for readying by others.

Reply: Just a point to make in line with my above two comments: In the first one I would like to edit "Perhaps, you'll get a wider readers ...." to as "Perhaps you'll get a wider readership ...." and in the second "..... before it goes up for readying by others" to " ..... before it goes up for reading by others". You may want to provide preview to edit the writing prior to posting it.
