I work at a lawfirm where i get 50 cents an hour more than my very deserving supervisor, who has been there years longer than I have, but i was a better negotiator. I am leaving nd i want her to know they lied to her about the salary "cap" ... should i tell her or how can i let her know just how unfair and what liars they are?

If you do anything at all be very careful. Try to find an indirect way of letting her know that there may be some flexibility around salary versus getting into the salary cap issue directly and the specific detail. Be sure that your attempts to help her don't end up in hurt feelings between the two of you. In any event, your former supervisor may want to check into salaries elsewhere as a negotiation strategy. |

1. What rules at work did you agree too?
Did you agree not to discuss salary?
don't get sued.
2. If your boss is happy don't tell her not that I would not want her to have more but there are a lot of people unhappy with their jobs and if she can not MOVE on to another company and make more she will simply be going to work unhappy.
Then again she may know they are liars and may not have the guts to move to another company then to know YOU know may embarass her.
Again you know the situtation since you are there... I can only offer advice from my GUESS as to what is going on.
So that is my opinion only.

If you tell her that, you will upset her. Not only that, your old boss will find out about it and you will never be able to use them as references again. I would just let it rest. |
