It ended up with her insulting me (with curse words and all) in front of at least 4 employees and behind our front desk (I work at a hotel) where any guest could have walked up. What's worse is she said things to purposely hurt me that my mother has jokingly said to her in the past and she was also loudly yelling/screaming said things. Two days later I found a write-up that she had made out saying I had committed insubordination, started a fight, was reading a non-work related book, and something else. I found that incredibly unfair, so I called her and I left. I didn't want to leave my job, but I didn't want to deal with her anymore. She has had these "freakouts" on me at least twice before, although her niece (which she hired) has been the only witness to those two. So I have two questions - what would you all do in this case - would you report her foul abuse or rather, is there anything I can do about her insulting me? And 2, can I file for unemployment benefits? I had another girl tell me if I could prove willful miscontent, that I could (and I have a copy of the writeup that she never even told me about where she even admitted in it that she insulted me and so on). What do you all think?
