Do not trust the boss

How to do you deal with a boss who cannot be trusted? I have workedfor this company for 2.5 years knowing how the boss has felt about her previous assitant(s). She really did not have a good thing to say about any of them. I'm sure it will be kudos for me as well. Currently, I am looking for a new position. How do I get out of there with a good reference. The owner of the comany and her are both unethical.

Hi, I can totally relate to your problem. My boss is also unethical-very hard to trust. I have to watch every step as he is constantly trying to trip us all and take advantage.
As far as your question on how to get out on good terms: unfortunately you'll have to be really careful until you have another job in hand. If you want a good reference you'll need to do your best to make your boss look good to those above him. If he's unethical no amount of rationale or honest discussing will help. Just chalk it up to a learning experience and don't burn bridges. Then go home and vent to family/friends! |

I have a hard time trusting my boss too. I have worked for the company for almost 15 years. I have had 2 different positons in this time, and several different managers. I once had complained to HR about a manager, which should have been in cofidence, and no sooner I was in the elevator on my way back up stairs, the head of HR was already on the phone with my boss telling her I was down in her office bad mouthing her....I since then left that office and work in a different office for the company, but have learned to not trust anyone now. |
