Is this right? Should I put up with this verbal abuse in the workplace?

Here I go..I work at the front desk of a hotel, my front desk manager is one of the biggest bitches youll meet, funny thing is she even admits that she is! Anyhow she has said many hurtful comments about and to me and infront of other co-workers too, for instance I am a bit quiet at the workplace and in general, but not overly, one day I was having this conversation with my co-worker just saying I cant believe I ever did Telemarketing since I am quiet, my FDM comes along and says I am still trying to figure out what it is your good at. Even though I am always trying my hardest and doing a good job.Also it was yesterday I was just doing my job and overheard her in the back office talking on the phone about ME, who knows why, she was saying "she is boring, blah, she has NO personality, I have given her the benefit of the doubt, she has just bought a house and has a boyfriend, I know it sounds mean but I dont know if I should keep her much longer". What kind of boss does this? Ive been there over 6 months now, over the probation period which is 3 months, now she needs a very good reason to get rid of me, the thing is from day 1 I have never felt welcome and my job and thats because she is not friendly one bit and not approachable either, if you were to go ask her a question she would roll her eyes at you or speak to you like your dumb and should already know the answer, she also acts like shes better than everyone, which infact shes not. Its so true that bosses and supervisors can make your life a living hell, Ive been planning on finding another job but until I do find one I dont want to quit, I need the money to pay some bills for the house my boyfriend and I just bought near the end of July. My boss is single and divorced, she is 32 and lives with her parents I dont think she even pays rent, do you think shes possibly jealous because outside of work Im happy? I really dont get it. I mean do us workers really have to put up with this kind of verbal abuse? Are people not allowed to be a bit quiet? Quiet people are still damn good workers, shes just a big mouth bitch. And I also believe that in the workplace there should be praise as well as POSITIVE criticism, not always negative. Shes even told me before that most of my co-workers find me boring, its funny how I can strike up a conversation and laugh and joke around with other workers but not with her, figures eh? Im just so upset I really am frustrated and Ive let this go on way too long, I need some advice.
