Boss delays discussing my bonus for a project.

I am working on a project that will be finished in 6 months. My boss has agreed that i will get paid a percentage of the profits on the project but not the details. Because he didn't do it I did a final budget showing our profit at end and what my share will be. All he has to do is simply review it and tell me if he agrees with my calculation and what my pay-out will be. But he continually delays doing this. he told me 2 months ago (when i asked) that "he knows it is important to me" and that he will look at it soon but then 4 weeks went by and nothing. I brought it up again and he hadn't done anything. I pressed him to give me a date by which he could do it so he said Nov. 15th, next week. I asked him this week if he had looked at it yet and he said he still needs to review the numbers and he will let me know when he is ready to discuss. 5 days later and still nothing. I am sure if i don't say anything the 15th will come and go with nary a word from him about this. I just want to know from hiim simply what i am working for. Even if he is going to pay me less than i am asking for, it is better to know that and i can make an informed decision. The not knowing is the hardest part for me.

Suggestions on how to handle a inconsiderate boss who delays on one's compensation??

    Thanks!

Reply: Brian your boss may be hedging on his verbal agreement with you. Calmly write your boss a letter, by first thanking him for offering 'such in such' terms on the PROFITS of The New Project. Then ask him to reply in 10 days, the exact nature and extent of his proposal. Without a written dialogue you have nil.

Reply: Thanks. I've tried the writing and deadlines in the past to no avail. But finally he seems to be coming around to acting reasonable. Good luck in your endeavors too.
