This is lame advice. Shows the incompentence of the person writing it and is only trying to protect its like and kind.

You'll look good by making the team look good? Wrong! A poor manager will let the team save his butt and take all the credit. A good manager knows that when his employees achieve, everybody looks good. This happens when they are given the support and tools to do their jobs effectively, and are properly rewarded for their efforts, including giving them the credit for a job well done. There is nothing more discouraging than working for a clueless manager. Employees are supposed to be doing their jobs, not their bosses'. Isn't that why they get the big bucks and perks?

Why would you want an incompetent boss to succeed. Unless you have some personal stock invested in this person(Friend, spouse, etc). I don't mind being a team player, but the sooner my team gets the right leader, the better off we'll be. Bad Advice
