    HR "Requirments" Unacceptable

I don't feel comfortable inputting my social security number on a company INTRANET website as verification that I read their Code of Conduct. Our HR department says that is the only way they will accept it. I have no quams with signing a paper copy - but they won't accept that.

Does anyone know if they can LEGALLY make me do that? I don't want to lose my job, but I don't trust the method.

Reply: They have your SSN. It is already in the computer system, somewhere, so I don't see what the problem is. If someone wanted to hack into the system and get your SSN, they can do that now.
