    New Boss

The new boss has singled me out. I think to get her old crew to come work for her. She has written me up 5 times within 2 weeks, with no room or suggested time for corrective action. I truely believe she wants me to walk out, but I stand my ground, and not all of the write ups are valid. And she has already brought in the 2 new ladies(who are the boss' friends) for training. Even as I picked up my check today, she had a write up form all ready for me to sign. With out getting into too much detail, other people have not been even verbally warned for what I was written up for. I know the boss just wants to make sure that paper trail is in order, so that she has every right to fire me. What now?

Reply: Thank you for this input, I have had a similiar experience. And what I have found is that if you sit and wait, it will come back to her. I think by the choices she is making, her job (priorities) are not in order and it will fall back on her. Best of luck.

Reply: jnette333, It sounds like you have run into a class "A" bi*ch. The only thing you can do is keep a log of dates, times, events, and conversations (and whoever else was around). This person seems dead-set on getting you out. But, here is a twist - maybe call her bluff. Tell her something like, "Hey, look. I know you are trying to get rid of me (and tell her why). Why don't you help me find a new job? It's the least you could do.....a win-win situation." Hopefully, the fish will bite, and you will be able to move into a new situation, one where you won't be hounded every day.

Reply: I agree with firebird..if you fight it you lose. Kill her with kindness and support AND document document document.

Reply: Sometimes a new boss will show they cannot be taken advantage of by writing people up for crazy things. I used to work in a bank, and the head teller was promoted to assistant manager. She wrote up another teller for talking too loud when she was dealing with a customer(the teller had always talked this way, it was her regular voice, no one had said anything to her before)and she wrote me up for overriding a transaction after another head teller had told me to do so. Eventually, someone told her these is more to being an assistant manager than writing people up.

Reply: Managers that like to have their old cronies work for them are generally very insecure. I had a boss that tried to get some of my staff replaced and try to use it as excuse for me to resign. In the long run, he was the one that left. Turns out he had a pattern of lasting only a year on each job. Just need to diplomatically stand up for yourself.
