My Bosses have meetings to sabotage what I am trying to do.

My two supervisors have had meetings behind closed doors, the one supervisor would call me in her office to let me know that I could not take 2 more courses to add on my certificate, they said the certificate i have for my job is enough yet the one supervisor is taking a master's degree and i cannot take these courses. The one supervisor said it is her decisons that count for my class,I do not have a say.

When one of my co-workers got called into her office to be warned about something I was also called, even though I had nothing to do with the problem, the supervisor said afterward it was because she was afraid of one of my co-workers thet tended to yell when she was upset. When a survey was done at the end of the year(by parents) there was negative comments about my co-worker,when the one supervisor typed out the survey results she included me in the negative comment also i know it was not about me.

The supervisor was not in most of the time, when she was she would flirt with any male figures that were around. If she had problems at home she would take it to work, she would ask us not to sign any deliveries or give her home phone number to anyone.

If we called her on something in staff meetings she would say"I don't remember.." or drag me in,or my name to try and get out of something.

It was hard trying to get overtime hours from her,she would say"it's not what your figures say..mine says"

this is a very difficult work situation..

Reply: It is within the bests interests of the company to encourage employees to further education and skills. You could try outlining the additional tasks and results that you could deliver to the company having thest two courses. Weigh the long term results against the cost of the courses. Put it into writing (perhaps email) so that you have a dated record and await a response. As far as your name on the comment, have you asked? You could try asking directly why your name was included. Explain that if you have done something wrong you can only improve if you know what it was. Leave your emotions out of it. If she's a flirt, you're probably not going to stop her. Just behave more professionally than her. Be specific and use real examples during your staff meetings. Your objective should be to focus more on you, your accomplishments and ideas. That will always show through. Hope this helps!
