True story: this bad boss at a major international corp. wanted to make a point to his sales staff. he met them for drinks at a hotel, because some came in from out of town for the meeting. In the hotel lounge, he ordered beers, and then proceeded to pour the beers over the heads of the sales staff. The saddest part is that the sales staff tried to laugh it off as a prank, and they sat there for the rest of the meeting with beer-soaked hair and suits.

My boss belittles me, sometimes giving me so much work she knows I'll fail, at other times not letting me do my job. There has been 50% turnover in her department since I started. Personnel have received loads of complaints about her but do nothing. Her reputation has even followed her around the industry! Why do people lower down in the company get disciplined and senior managers get away with it?
