    Does this sound familiar?

I just had a meeting with my toxic supervisor and told him that I didn't like the way he talks to me. He suggested I have a problem with authority. I don't know how he came to that conclusion as I do all the work he asks me to do without question. Is this a bully tactic?

Reply: Congratulations on standing up for yourself and talking to your supervisor! This definitely sounds like a bully tactic and I would actually be concerned that he puts his "impression" that you have a problem with authority in your personnell file. Does he have his own supervisor? I would go above him and let his boss know that you have tried to talk with him and were rebuffed. Make sure to let them know you are only interested in making the office run more smoothly and are looking for suggestions on how to deal with your supervisor. That way they can see you aren't just trying to get him in trouble.

Reply: It depends on how he talks to you..does he get overly personal? Does he use foul language? Is this way with you only or with everyone? If you have have a boss with a gruff/abrasive manner, you cannot except to be treated differently than anyone else. I would take these factors into consideration before going over his head, which often backfires.

Reply: the thing is with these people, it's always gona be YOU that has the problem and not them, they never take look at themselves or try to make improvements in the way they handle these situations, it's just easier to blame it back on the other person, they usually have very little to be proud of at the end of the day, generally these people aren't nice because they aren't happy with themselves!
