I work for a non-profit company whose goal is to end hunger in my state. I am the office manager, executive assistant, supervisor (newly) over 6 people. My boss is OUT of Control. She was newly made the Assistant Director and has fired 10 people heartlessly. One of them a very competant younger women, who I had just gotten fully trained as an assistant so I could be"downloaded on" by my boss. Granted this young lady needed further 'grooming" but the pay here is very low and she would have matured into the job beautifully. Then I was only allowed to hire apart time person to replace her who recently had a major accident and may never come back to work. I am not going to allowed to replace her. I have had to go to work very very sick ( I have 188 sick hours and 108 vacation hours accumulated ) but literally the place would fall apart if I stayed home to get better. AND I know the boss slams people openly in meetings in front of everyone IF they need time off. But of course her attendance is less than stellar! I haven't had a call in sick day in over a year or a weeks vacation in 18 months.I feel HER boss doesn't have the guts to knock her off her high horse. This company really needs me. I work hard and very cheap for them. I am thinking of beefing up my resume, but I hate to leave a job I otherwise love! Any advice?

Reply: have you tried talking to your boss? Low pay, no vacation, or sick time AND a nasty boss? Can you be paid for unused vacation time? If not, I would insist on taking the vaction time, using it to look for another job.

Reply: I know I have to start the search for another career. Unfortunetely, I am stresses to the max and emotionally not at the top of my game lately. Thanks for the reply.
