Dealing With Worst Boss

I work for Military Sealift Command and I have the worst boss now that I have ever had. This guy can't spell and is incapable of writing a paragraph in English. I have received nothing but terrible assignments since he took over. He is totally biased. He is disorganized; he does not know who is coming or going. He has used foul language to employees yet if it is used back at him he runs for the nearest rule book to file complaints against others. I am not the only person that has had trouble with this creep. What drives me crazy is that Military Sealift Command covers for this person who is unfit to be a janitor in my opinion. I think the only reason we are paid well is to put up with him as a supervisor. I like my job but he is running me and others away from my job. I wish there was a way to deal with him before I am forced into another job.

It would seem that somehow this person has managed to "blag" his way into a position that is in fact out of his element. Although you are in a totally different job, it doesn't sound too different to my situation, my boss blagged her way in through brown nosing the other boss, she too is way out of her element and has no plans to try improving herself as a boss, ie. they believe they don't have a problem and try telling you that it is your probblem, don't accept the *rap, try coaxing him into being a better person. I know that may seem impossible but unless you let these people know they carry on regardless. I confronted my boss by saying that I didn't like the way she was treating/talking to me and that her behaviour was unacceptable, she tried to counter my comments with that is your problem and not mine you have the problem not me but I stuck it out and repeated that the problem was hers and not mine, I told her that as manager she needed to control her temper and think about how she talks to people. I threw in a backhanded compliment to enable her to listen to what I was saying, you don't have to brown nose them, you just pick out the tiniest quality they do have and it should make them feel good enough to try harder. I suspect these people have deep insecurities at heart. |
