    What to do?

I have recently been promoted at work - after being here 4 years and completely working my a-- off. Anyway, my new role is shifting my former still psycho boss's workload to my own. It is sort of a demotion for her, but is better fitting for her to not manage as much.

Anyway, she and my new boss (her boss also) have worked together for umpteen years. Every single person in our group hates her, which he is aware of. Yet he hasn't done anything to get her out of her roles until now.

So my problem now is that he has "redecided" to leave some of my new job with her, basically to appease her. Not only does that suck (and after I accepted), I have to work with her again much more closesly (she is the reason for every BAD day I had when I worked for her).

Anyway, I am now no longer very willing to appease the situation, but want to force the issue. How should I best go about it with my new boss (who is the group manager). I don't want to name call or anything like that, but I'm not going to take her sh-t anymore.

    Help!

Reply: Gee...I would love to be able to provide some assistance here, but my reason for being here is much like yours. I too deal with a very bad boss with a reputation known throughout the company. Almost anyone who knows her wonders how she's managed to stick around so long. Her only success is because of her direct reports. She's made so many poor decisions that it's easily cost the company tens of thousands of dollars. She's literally made people completely shut down out of frustration to the point that their careers have become merely "jobs." To add to it all, this is a corporation. Every employee is a shareholder. It could easily be pointed out how this person is impacting our profitability...but who do you go to to do that? I sure empathize with you...
