I work as an warranty administrator and there is this woman i work with who takes it upon herself to constantly correct my work even though i do a good job, she criticizes and never says anything nice, shes nice to my face but behind my back she talks about me to other co-workers, thing is my boss likes her alot and they have little "meetings", i am so fed up with it i get sick just thinking of going to work and dealing with this woman any suggestions?

There are co-workers of this type in a lmost all working places. Best way to deal with them in ignore their efforts of pointing at your mitakes. Actually such people are deprived people and their sense of deprivation in any aspect of their life is the motive behing such finfing-faults-all-the-time type of habit. While they are correcting just ignore them a do whatever possible you can do at their suggestions. Be strategically polite and smiling to your other colleagues and laugh you head off while at home. |

I agree - the best way to deal with this type of person is to rise above it all and ignore her bad behaviour and attitude. Be pleasant and courteous to her at all times, especially because she's friendly with the boss - you don't want to give her any more ammunition than the stuff she's making up (and which she won't be able to prove anyway). When your boss and your coworkers see you rising above it all like this, you'll come off looking like an angel. |

I've been in a similar situation. One possible problem with ignoring the situation is that, if the boss is "friendly" with this person, it could affect your future and compensation with the company, regardless of the quality work you do.
In addressing such a situation (regarding an employee who was slandering me and my ability) with my manager, I was told by this manager that I was bad at my job and lucky to still be employed. I told him to look at the production records which would prove that these "bad employee" allegations were false. I was told "I don't need to. What I say is the truth".
If you're going to ignore the situation, keep an eye out for another job - just in-case. |

remove yourself from the situation. Bosses get away with everything...it's a losing battle. If you can quit, then do it and move on...there are plenty of jobs out there. |
