I am a consultant that has a client who I believe has a personality disorder. She's really good at manipulating nad making everyone in the office feel inferior. I need to keep working for her because I need money. The problem is that the longer I work for her, the worse I feel about myself and the more hesitant I am to get new clients. I just got a new client this week and feel so insecure about it - so I feel like I will fail. Does anyone have any coping methods that they use to zone out the abuse to get to the paycheck?

Reply: Check out this site thoroughly for strategies and tactics - especially the personality disorder and verbal self defense material. Coping is a good interim but not long-term strategy. And remember that one person cannot make another feel inferior unless the person lets him or her.
