    Frustrated

I really got angry yesterday! I was working a certain departemnt in my store in which I was not allowed to leave. Then I get a call on my walkie talkie to come downstairs for several baskets of merchandise which customers had returned. Well, I couldn't go downstairs to get them because my boss told me never to leave my department. I asked someone else via walkie to get them, and got no response. About ten minutes later I get another call from downstairs to get the returned metchandise -- it was obvious from the sound of the girl's voice that she was angry with me. I was frustrated -- I wanted to go down and get the baskets, yet I couldn't. No one else would go down and get them for me, yet in reality, they could leave their departments to do so. Then another ten minutes or so passes, and another voice comes to me on my walkie. I explain again that I can't leave my department, and beg and plead for someone to go down and get them. FInally, someone did, about the time she was ready to go home.

Angry by no one's willingness to recover the merchandise for me, and by my boss's unwillingness to help me out by ordering someone to get it over his walkie, I speak to the exchange desk's boss about it, and then my boss. First my boss chews out the wrong person, who wasn't responsible for my predicament, then he tells that person I wasn't able to work my department. Well, I have worked this department for well over a year without any prior problems. I have a good reputation in this store as a productive worker, which is why I was aggravated that I couldn't go down to get the merchandise when called. My boss never takes responsibilities for his mistakes (in this case, not getting someone to go downstairs for me when he knew I couldn't go,his failure to communicate). I have worked almost entire floors by myself on numerous occasions and on busy nights. The only reason why I couldn't work my department yesterday was because of the restrictions he put on me -- he wouldn't let me go down to get the basketfuls of merchandise.

I could say other things, here, but won't. I merely wanted to vent my frustration.

    Thanks.

    Natasha
