    Rescinding one month's notice

Can anyone legal help. My husband got attacked in his job as a security guard. He gave in his notice with pressure from his family but has since changed his mind. He was two weeks into his notice but has been told that if they take him back he will have to forego his five years service and start as a new person with a lower hourly rate. As he has two weeks to go until his notice is up can they legally do this.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Reply: This is perfectly legal. Please note that many companies won't take back employees who have resigned (and this is also legal), so your husband's company is actually going above and beyond standard practice by allowing him to stay at all, even with dimished circumstances.
