    LOL Original Situation

Hello all, I'll make this quick.

I had been relocated, same company, 1 1/2 years go. Parking spaces with either forman or an assistant director, with permission. I'm two levels below him but he never uses it. Any way, his secretary isn't feel well, back problems, so he tells her to park in his spot. While he is not my actual boss, mine is friends with him. to make a long story even shorter, i hope, i was yelled at by this man, who owens the space, because i parked there. I told him i was not made aware of any changes. then he yelled even louder and told me to get to his office. We were out in the parking lot, standing about 20 feet away from each other. My response was "your not my boss", then I turned and left. he continued to yell at me, telling me "do you know who I am and what I can do to you?". I just had to get away from him, he scared the crap out of me yelling like that.

Anyway, he told our joing deputy director, i was insabornite and need time out on the street. the d-director did that. I found out later, that apparently the assistant director that I had this confrontation with, told everyone he asked me 'nicely and i told him no, i got there first". He and my immediate boss, his buddy, told the director when we where called down. Both lied to them. I'm so very upset. I dislike liers.

What legal action can be taken agains them? I am a state employee, management. I can't tell you the betrail I feel. I don't lie and don't like liers.

Please help. I have 10 more years of 24 already. I don't want to lose my job, but I don't think I can work for people i don't believe in.

    Thanks in advance

    Patti

Reply: You can't take any legal action against them because they haven't done anything illegal. Yelling and lying are indeed reprehensible, however they're not illegal. And even if they were, if you make a legal claim against these two while you're still working there, you'll lose your job for sure. I recommend that you lie low for a while and see what happens - hoepfully it will all blow over. If it doesn't, follow your state employee's grievance procedure to resolve the issue. Good luck.
