Jealous Women Coworkers

I don't know what it is in this society today, but the jobs I've had in the last 10 years or so, I've had difficulty working with other women. I'm polite, friendly, etc., done absolutely nothing to these women, yet they are just down right rude. I took a job last year working with 4 other women in a local elementary school cafeteria, and 3 of the women were so rude to me, come to find out 30 days later after going back to my previous position, that they didn't want me to take that job, but another women who applied for the same position. Every little tiny thing I did in their eyes was wrong, according to them. I was told I was doing this and that wrong, I was yelled at in front of kids and teachers by another of the women, I developed what I thought was psoriasis on my arm, which turned out to be a rash from stress, it disappeared a week after I left that job. I ended up going back to my previous position at another school and now when these 3 women see me they don't smile or say hello, they just totally ignore me. I've come to the conclusion that they were just downright jealous. Period. I've never done a thing to these women. I can't understand why women have to be this way. They were being rude because they didn't want me there.

Here's your answer, MCodi2, they're ninnies! They would probably fit in quite well with a tribe of chimps, exhibiting both the IQs and bullying methods employed by those primates. Women are reported to be adept at socializing but all you have to do is look back to your junior high school days to recall the nasty games girls could play on one another in order to be alpha female and cohorts. Such behavior still manages to rear its ugly and infantile head in the so-called adult work world. For you to question yourself, is exactly what bullies want you to do. Its important that you find friends and a fun organization to get involved in, so that you can put this well behind you. And if I were you, I'd give them a sunny smile when you see them next. |

More than likely, the woman are angry at themselves for whatever reason that may be. Unfortunately, they are taking it out on you which is unacceptable behavior. I agree with the response from matildagsd, they are displaying infantile behavior. Whenever I encounter a situation like that, I remind myself that I am proud of myself that I do not need to act that way to others. Good Luck! |

I used to have a boss who just STARE at me all day long. It creeped me out but I ignored it. I know she was doing to get a rise out of me for some reason. Her and the other 300lb cow that I worked for at that company had it in for me for some reason. |

I completely understand, I have a very frienly and outgoing personality. I have always gotten along with everyone that I have ever worked with. There are women who I work with indirectly that have it out for me and I am told its becuase I started and did not need a lot of assistance when I started so I was not at there mercy for answers. I say to hell with them. I will be myself and if that makes controverary, then let the president fire me himself -the one who hired me to begin with. |

Same thing here. I am the target of a particular girl at work. She is witchy, sarcastic, and hates life. She is offended that I am none of the above, so, she thinks it's her duty to belittle me. Pretty immature! WHy can't all of us NICE girls work together!! I used to work in the school system as well. It's amazing how "mature" women, who should be setting an example for the kids, act like they do! |

I too work in the school system. these women are so stuck in junior high school!! This is the third district I've worked for and it is like a carbon copy. These women are so vindictive and immature!! They give you dirty looks if you don't drink, smoke, or have children. Or if you are younger. No matter how nice I try to be, there is always a cougar lurking around the corner ready to pounce on me. I am so glad it is only temporary. |
