Reply: Sorry, The situation is this: I am a full comission employee. I had been out of the office on vacation for the past 2 weeks. During which time, I still worked my deals. My file processor during this time worked on some aspects of my 2 files. I am on a 50% comission split & have been for 3 years with this company. These 2 files were closed 2 weeks ago. As could be expected, I anticipated receiving my usual comission. 2 Days before payday, I received an e-mail from my boss saying I would only receive half of my normal comission split!! This was based upon the fact that my processor did work on the 2 files. Can an employer arbitrarily change your pay scale 2 days before payroll? Without discussing this with me? 2 weeks after files have been closed? Any insight is appreciated.

Reply: Contact your state department of labor, or if you're in Canada, your provincial employment standards office.

Reply: Sorry buddy, they can do it. I was an outside loan office on commission. For others reason, I lost commion paid on a deal, per management- No, it wwas not fair. - But as my co-officers said- do not rock the boat and lose your job. So my advice is to just bite the bullet on those 2 deals - and now you know how it goes. That is what I did- and I kept my job. Did not make me happy- but oh well.
