    HELICOPTEROLOGY

I recently had a review and in it was told that my boss was not a "helicopter" boss, the kind where they watch everything you do; have to sign in and out for when we leave the confinements of our office(and to go to the bathroom basically), we have over 6 buildings that are visited from a day to day. As a one of the directors of my department, there are times when we are out of the office meeting with clients for lunch, well if we are both out or overlap our lunch times we are repremanded by an email stating we are not "communicating" very well with her and that we are leaving our offices unmanned. So meanwhile, I have to say to my clients..."Oh I must go, now, I have to get back so the other director can go to lunch... without giving too much away... we have an assistant that is here over our lunch period to "assist" while we are out, that was a big part of why they were hired... and now we are not to have that person "assisting" anyone!! Whatever - helicopterboss. If my boss spent more time doing her job and less time worrying about whether or not that we are in our offices and if not that we had signed out properly and stated what time we would return -OH and wathcing for appropriate dress code, when she herself does not dress the part. I do my job and I do it well, I am rewarded often with praise, but I am made to feel often like I am not worth what I am told I am.
