I would like to hear from librarians and library employees who have been bullied at work.

"Bullied" is about the only thing I haven't been, but I'm about ready to leave this library after fourteen years for a nonprofessional position that pays $10000 less, all because an incompentent mayor is about to permanently promote our director, who in two years as interim director has done absolutely nothing, just like the ten years she spent as department head. We've had a hiring freeze, budget cuts, and threats to close libraries and layoff employees, and she let a children's librarian sing and dance for forty-five minutes on inservice day rather than discuss any of this. I would like to be bullied at this point -- at least it would be some sort of action. |
