This nut has me going crazy; I am hypervigilent when he calls me, sends me an email or if I attending a meeting with this a** h*** of a manager. The bad thing is he and me are the top two in the organization. He undermines everything I do, takes credit for all my work and then blames me for his faiilures, he has cut me out of the loop, I am double the effective dose for an SNRI quaduple the effective dose of an SSRI, and on a benzodiazapine for sleep. I have been wwith the company for 22 years and have 3-more to go.....I earn a v.good salary but am not sure it is worth it! I am only 43 and have many options but I don't want to let this moron run me off.......I have concluded it is time to go.....but is unwilling to throw in the towel.....words of wisdom....support....or insight will be appreciated...........

Reply: Why quit?! This fool is trying to hog all the fame and work, right? So let him. Since he's trying to take it from you, let him! It'll lessen your workload for the time being. You sound like you need the mental break anyway. Let his own actions, strangle himself. He's clearly begging for it. Just don't lose sight and stop doing ALL your job entails. Every action has a consequence whether good or bad. This fool is looking for a fight. Why give him the satisfaction? Play him for the fool he is and give yourself a break. It will ALL fall into place soon enough. Good luck...from someone who's been there!

Reply: I'm curious about your other options that you said you had. Not knowing them, I'd agree with what the first post told you, but I'd like to add that you better take care to nurture yourself for the next few years. Take up jogging or some other exercise, try to maintain an energizing, healthy diet, read uplifting or humorous books, perhaps even see a hypnotherapist. Spending time with other people who treat you with respect is also important, perhaps join an organization or a club if you have time. One of the best tips I read about standing up to bullying is that you must arm yourself for battle and whatever you can do to empower yourself is absolutely necessary. Also, you ought to document what is being done. Since you are one of the top two in the organization, its not as if you can hand that over to any higher-ups but you would have something to hand over to a lawyer, if it came to that.

Reply: Wow- really bad scene -I had a male fiiend who was in your situation- something lke your. Had been with the company for 7 years, than got a new boss- that he could not tolerate- Stuck it out for 3 years, than had to quit. He will only say, "he could not take his boss anymore." And for him , he did eventually get another job, not in his field and less pay. FOr you, make sure you get you health double checked- so that you do no futher damage- Honestly - I feel for you buddy- If you can start sending out resumes now - do so, sometimes the stress level is so bad, you just can't do it. I think that in the end, you will be the one to decide how much you can take. And, I am big on the exercise. Ther if a married family man who lives in my neighborhood and he walks every day after work, right after work, in the cold and warm weather. It looks like it is his srvival tool for his job.Trust me- I do know that it will chill your head. Just make sure you have a good pair of walking sneakers, and wear a hat that covers head and ears.
