In my current employment that was not the case in fact I took a pay decrease for other benefits (flexable hours) for children and such. Although my personality is such that regardless of the position I hold I take my job serious and treat it like I was an owner of the company which in turns means I generally put forth 110-120%. I can not help it it is me. Why am posting is I recently went on a business trip with the boss and wound up putting in like 10-14 hour days with plane, drive, training & entertaining. My general schedule lends itself to like 5-6 hour work days for my childrens schedule so this business trip was a inconvience to my family and my typical schedule. Was very informative and great experience, however still business. Well when I recieved my paycheck my boss had averaged my work days as 8 hours. Granite I had not previously discussed compensation for travel, however we are a small business so true value to me comes out much clearer than in large corporations. He did not even pay me what I really worked- how sad. Is this lesson learned or is this just another example of not being valued, could go on with other situations that I have felt the same punch in the stomach, but I seem to stick it out for the schedule. Have we become a society that we can not believe that honesty will prevail?
