[Back to message list] [Reply to this topic] [Start a new topic] Management or Overtime DodgePosted by: dp39 I'd like to hear if anybody else has had an experience like mine: I worked for a 4 star hotel in Houston, Texas in the computer services department. We had a 4 person team and were present for the opening. This was a very high profile facility with plenty of long nights, no weekends etc. I was classified as a Manager and everyone else as Assistant Managers, I'm assuming to avoid payment of Overtime to the IT department personnel. I can say the schedule was overbearing at best, numerous periods without weekends, and the longest 21 days straight with no OT and no comp time. After everyone else had been fired and I was no longer "Managing" anybody I pressed to be re-classified as non-management... eventually they fired me on a technicality. I think the realized I was right and they should have changed my classification. Any thoughts??
