    My boss, the Sr VP of HR, inherited by department (not an HR function) after a downsizing. He is disinterested in the work of my department (14 people). For the 2nd year in a row, he never met with me, spent time on his own projects and the Exec Team and ignored me. Four months after everyone else had their performance review, he shows up with an inventory of complaints he says people have made about me throughout the year . . . but he was so busy he didn't have time (he says) to get involved. Oh, BTW he admits I am talented and hardworking. I am exhausted and frightened. What can I do?

    Reply: Could you ask to meet with Sr Vp and share your work with him to allow him to get to know you better? Maybe discuss complaints with calm confidence to dispace any inaccuracies?
