My boss is sooo unreasonable. You can never do anything that will please her. She corrects all your paperwork even if she tells you how to write it. She does not like it when our office doors are closed because she always bust through it acting like she's asking a question but when she leaves, she leaves the door open. She tells us to go out into the community (part of our job duties)but then she calls our cellphones asking us "Where are you?" When she is out of town on business she calls the office just to make sure everyone was on time and she sends her son to the office to make sure no one leaves early. She can never be satisfied!!!

Reply: Your boss is not a parent you must please so stop trying. You are there to do a good job, hopefully find some challenge in your work, and gain some confidence in your job expertise. This manager sounds harried and a bit paranoid, but not abusive. Its up to you if you want to continue with her hypervigilance and try to analyze it or if you want to chance working elsewhere. A sense of humor always helps, should you decide to stay.

Reply: Really - I do not think you have it so bad - so what if they are checking up on you if you are working or leaving early. If you are not, there is nothing to fear. If she calls you when you are out in the field, perhaps and e-mail system or simple system be put in place so boss knows your whereabout when out in the field. I agree with "matildagsd" laugh, after the "checkers" are our of earshot.
