    What should I do?

I work for a CA school district as a classified sub. I was supposed to sub for my wife who is the high school registrar. To make a long story short, I was not allowed to do so, and was told it would show favoritism on her part(Even though secretaries, etc. are allow to choose who they want for a sub). I was then told by a person in a school district human resources office I was better suited for maintenance and security. I was highly offended, especially since I spent 6 years in the Army as a software analyst, and I have plenty of office and computer experience. I also have direct access to the registrar(being she is my wife) so if I had question I would know where to go. I am so frustrated with this situation, I don't know what to do. If I confront the person I can kiss my job goodbye. But I can't let this slide.....
